The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) is one of the two technical universities in Switzerland and the second largest research institution in Switzerland with over 3000 researchers. The two main contributors from EPFL are the Autonomous Systems Lab (ASL) and the Laboratoire de Production Microtechnique (LPM). The ASL is a leading research center in mobile robotics and intelligent control. Its main contribution will be on the definition and implementation of scalable software architecture and probabilistic data fusion for intelligent driver assistance and autonomous control. The LPM is experienced in complex hardware design and image analysis. It works close to industry by converting innovation into commercial products. The LPM will provide embedded network cameras and the associated image analysis software for intelligent active perception and image analyses.
