Simtec Simulation Technology GmbH (Germany)
Simtec was founded in 1989. As founding member of Braunschweig Avionics Center
Simtec is situated at the Braunschweig Reasearch Airport since 1992.
Simtec developed and manufactured the world-wide unique Dornier 228 Full-Flight-Simulator
which was approved by the German Civil Aviation Authority in spring 1994. The
simulator components comprise different technical fieldws like aerospace engineering,
electronics, IT, hydraulics and mechanics. The Dornier 228 Full-Flight-Simulator
is operated by simtec and is used for the training and education of airline
pilots from all over the world.
Apart from the successful use in the field of aviation simulation technology
plays an important part in the domain of high-quality entertainment. In the
last years simtec developed into a specialist concerning the production of hydraulic
motion platforms. For example, simtec has built the motion platform for the
simulator cinema "Galaxy" for the amusement park "Phantasialand" near
Cologne as well as the biggest cabin simulator in the world - "Expo-Jet®"
– which was built for the German Pavilion of the Expo ’98 in Lisbon.
Also in the third field of business simulation technology is of great importance.
In the summer of 1997 simtec presented the HEXaDRIVE®, a six axes motion
platform for industrial test beds. This system enables a replacement of road
tests by tests in the laboratory.
