Energy management
The energy management software safeguards the energy in the vehicle and increases the availability of the energy supply. The Energy management consist of three parts: The generator control, the load strategy and the algorithm for consumer switching. The algorithm for consumer switching can delay the activation of consumers or even deactivate consumers. This function is working predictively in order to prevent an unwanted voltage breakdown when several consumers are activated simultaneously.
The central part of the electrical energy supply in the SPARC Vehicle is given by two redundant batteries. In the case of a malfunction of the generator all electrical energy must be provided by the batteries. By means of a battery diagnosis, the State of Charge (SOC) and State of Health (SOH) are calculated. Based on this information the control of loading and unloading processes is managed.
